AMERICANAFEST!

What a fantastic week it's been!  It started with my solo performance at Matchless in Brooklyn NY on the 17th--a night made even more memorable by an unexpected reunion with a great old friend I hadn't seen in too long of a time. After the show, I headed to Carlisle, PA and from there on to Nashville, TN. where I met with some old and new friends at AmericanaFest! My time in Nashville was marked by incredible performances by Joe Purdy, Gregory Alan Isakov, Nathaniel Rateliff, Jonah Tolchin, Israel Nash,  and David Ramirez to name a few. Together with Heartstrings magazine I had the amazing good fortune to meet and speak with these talented artists and some of their band mates. Ah, and to do it in Nashville, one of my favorite cities, made the experience all the more amazing. Special thanks to Sue and Paul for putting me up for the week! And to Matt Walberg at the Two Old Hippies music store -- one of the nicest guys you could ever meet! Check out the Heartstrings page of my website for coverage of the festival and keep an eye on it because many more articles will be posted in the days to come. After Nashville I drove back North to Harrisburg and then on to another solo performance at The Path Cafe' in the Village, NYC. I'll be meeting with legendary engineer, Scott Hull of Masterdisk NYC tomorrow, to start gearing up for the recording of my second album. I'm real excited about the new songs and am looking forward to getting back in to the studio. More performance dates will be posted soon!  Stay tuned!  Bill S.
