Magnet Magazine: Exclusive Premiere of Bill Scorzari's "Middle Class Middle Child" Video

by Robert Rowland

“Middle Class Middle Child” began as a last-minute addition to Bill Scorzari’s recording schedule.

“After finishing my parts for 19 tracks at my studio, I found I had some extra time on my hands before the final recording sessions were scheduled in Nashville,” says the New York-based singer/songwriter. “I decided to look through unrecorded songs again and see if I could get one ready before leaving.”

As luck would have it, Scorzari wound up with a defining moment on the second installment of an ambitious double album. Due September 25, the self-released Sidereal Days (Day 2) completes an expansive musical statement kicked off last fall with Sidereal Days (Day 1)

...He finally headed to Easy Nashville’s Skinny Elephant Recording, where he worked with producer Neilson Hubbard (Mary Gauthier, Kim Richey, Glen Phillips) and a seasoned studio lineup that included Erin Rae, Danny Mitchell, Juan Solorzano, Chelsea McGough, Eamon McLoughlin and the Shoals Sisters.

A former trial lawyer, Scorzari made an abrupt midlife shift to music in 2008. Citing Justin Townes Earle as a primary inspiration, he released his debut LP, Just The Same, in 2014. Since then, his richly detailed, poetic style has earned comparisons to everyone from Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen to Kris Kristofferson and Townes Van Zandt.

V13 Media Premiere of "I Think It's Gonna Rain"

by Aaron Willschick

"Bill Scorzari Reflects on a 'Stormy' Experience with 'I Think It’s Gonna Rain' [Premiere]

In accompaniment of Earth Day, singer-songwriter Bill Scorzari premieres his new single and music video for “I Think It’s Gonna Rain.

With the many wonders of the planet that we live on, Bill Scorzari pays his tributes today on Earth Day with the premiere of his new song “I Think It’s Gonna Rain.” Along with the song comes a studio-set performance video of Scorzari and his talented backing band performing the song. The origins of the song go back to 2012, when a particular violent storm really left an impression on him.

The song is your first sampling of Scorzari’s upcoming album Sidereal Days (Day 2). The album will be released on September 25th, 2026, and will act as the second part of a double album. The first part, Sidereal Days (Day 1), was released last October. Although he has the assistance of his band, Scorzari very much encompasses the heart and the spirit of the great singer-songwriters. He is supremely focused on his words and the craftsmanship of the music, examining the human condition with his distinctive voice... Intimate and wide-ranging, Sidereal Days (Day 2), just like Sidereal Days (Day 1), finds Scorzari, the songwriter, functioning at an elite level."

New Single Alert: Bill Scorzari Opens the Door to “Sidereal Days (Day 2)”

"...The Inspiration Behind “Open Door”

Grounded in a sense of innocence and simplicity, the lyrics for “Open Door” began forming as far back as the early spring of 2013. Scorzari’s writing process is famously observational; he draws from a mosaic of life experiences... By weaving these disparate threads together, Scorzari creates a cohesive narrative that feels intimate yet universal.

...Completing the “Sidereal Days” Duology

Sidereal Days (Day 2) serves as the second half of a massive double-album project. Its predecessor, Day 1 (released October 17, 2025), received significant critical acclaim...

To bring this vision to life, Scorzari collaborated with an elite group of musicians:

Bill Scorzari: Lead/harmony vocals, guitars, mandolin, banjo
Brad Talley: Dobro
Chelsea McGough: Cello
The Shoals Sisters (Cindy Richardson Walker & Marie Lewey): Backing vocals
Danny Mitchell: Piano, Hammond B3, flugelhorn, trumpet
Eamon McLoughlin: Violin/fiddle
Erin Rae & Megan McCormick: Harmony vocals
Joshua Britt: Mandolin, mandola
Juan Solorzano: Electric/pedal steel/baritone guitars, ganjo
Michael Rinne: Upright and electric bass
Neilson Hubbard: Drums and percussion.

Looking Ahead: Upcoming Releases

Four additional singles will be released in the lead-up to the September 25th album launch:
“I Think It’s Gonna Rain” – A haunting, cinematic piece written during a Florida thunderstorm.
“I Know You Know” – An upbeat traveling song exploring the deep intuition of long-term relationships.
“Middle Class Middle Child” – The album’s longest track (6:30), blending semi-autobiographical sentiments with emotional storytelling.
“Sandcastles Waiting” – A melody-driven track years in the making, finalized during the 2024 recording sessions. ..."

"...Full Album Independently Released September 25, 2026
Disc 2 of Double Album, Co-Produced by Scorzari and Neilson Hubbard Featuring Scorzari and Hubbard along with Brad Talley, Chelsea McGough, Cindy Richardson Walker, Danny Mitchell, Eamon McLoughlin, Erin Rae, Joshua Britt, Juan Solorzano, Marie Lewey, Megan McCormick, and Michael Rinne  HUNTINGTON, NY — The third track from singer-songwriter, recording artist, and performer Bill Scorzari‘s impending sixth independent studio album, Sidereal Days (Day 2), which is scheduled to be released on September 25, 2026, is available to stream now. “Open Door” is an upbeat, folky love song featuring traditional acoustic instruments and a vocal duet with Scorzari and Megan McCormick. Gentle and grounded in innocence and simplicity, some of the lyrics to “Open Door” came to Bill in the warming temperatures of the late winter/early springtime of 2013. He says, “I was in a car on Long Island waiting for a traffic light to change when I looked to the side of the road and saw a small stream of water coming from the snow that was melting on the ground in the early morning sunshine, and I thought, ‘Your love, it’s like an open, it’s like an open, an open door. It’s tender, tender as sunshine, sun in the springtime melting snow.’”   Bill’s inspiration comes from just about everything that’s ever been around him. Sometimes it’s a dream, a news story, a personal experience, something he’s read, a coiled telephone cord, melting snow, a conversation he’s overheard or......"       Click Here to Read the Full Dreamspider Publicity Press Release         Click Here to read it on The Grateful Web

Americana-UK Track Premiere: Bill Scorzari "Open Door"

by Jonathan Aird

"It’s a pleasure to feature the latest single from gravel-voiced songwriter Bill Scorzari, who has his latest album, Sidereal Days (Day 2), ready to release on September 25th. Some ways off, but on today’s song, we find Bill Scorzari in a more upbeat and tranquil mood, with Open Door being a folky love song featuring traditional acoustic instruments and a vocal duet with Megan McCormick. Others on this track include Danny Mitchell (Piano and Hammond B3 Organ), Chelsea McGough (Cello), Joshua Britt (Mandolin), Brad Talley (Dobro), Michael Rinne (Upright Acoustic Bass), and album co-producer Neilson Hubbard (Drums and Percussion).

Speaking of the song, Bill Scorzari told Americana UK that: 'Some of the lyrics for Open Door came to me in the warming temperatures of the late winter/early springtime while I was traveling on a backroad near my home on Long Island, New York. I looked to the side and saw a small stream of water flowing from the snow that was melting there on the ground in the early morning sunshine, and I thought, ‘Your love, it’s like an open, it’s like an open, an open door. It’s tender, tender as sunshine, sun in the springtime melting snow.’ It’s such an exciting time of the year when everything starts waking up from the cold to greet the brighter, longer, and warmer spring days and their hints of the promises that summer will bring just a little further ahead. The acoustic folk and roots instruments on this track perfectly captured the essence of the emerging exuberance I had felt in that moment.' "

Song Review - Bill Scorzari "That's a Good Thing" from the upcoming album Sidereal Days (Day 2)

by Jack Mesenbourg

"As I have been patiently waiting for the full release of Day 2 (currently listed as coming in 2026) it has been very nice to be able to listen to the previously reviewed “I Stayed” which I first heard back in January of this year.  Now this second single is out and it definitely continues the run of truly noteworthy music being created by Scorzari and his talented team of musicians.  ...the mood set is kind of a reflective, everyday kind of hopefulness.  The matter-of-fact vocal delivery matches that tone and conveys a powerful story of heartfelt tenderness about the ups and downs of life.

As was true of Sidereal Days (Day 1) the musical composition of these first two singles from Day 2 really shines, especially in the delicate touches provided by the musicians.  Each song has an engaging musical landscape behind it that is just as compelling as Scorzari’s poignant lyrics.  I will remain patiently waiting for more of this album to be released. ..."
